#artyouready : the MArRC among the protagonists of the flashmob dedicated to “empty museums”
MArRC hsa participated in the flashmob “ArT you ready?” on institutional social channels (and mainly on Instagram), promoted by the Ministry for cultural heritage and activities and tourism, on Sunday, March 29th, 2020, for all the day, coordinated by the Press Office.
It was a digital “big event”, which involved iGers (members of the telematic community), professional or amateur photographers and ordinary citizens, for the publication of images of the MArRC preferably “empty”, of the shop windows and exhibits, taken from the archive and from the memory of visitors and museum enthusiasts.
The beauty of the museum and Calabrian cultural heritage has been thus shared in the virtual community with the hashtags #emptymuseum, together with #artyouready. Many people have published their “souvenir photos” on private accounts, in a choral experience, which testifies to the love for the Museum and for Calabria.
The Riace Bronzes were, of course, the main “testimonials” for the MArRC. But not only Bronzes. The loving gaze of the public through the shots brought to the general attention many exceptional finds from the museum collection, more or less known.
