Literature at the Museum with the Bergamot Art Festival
They call it “the green gold of Calabria”, that is the bergamot, the typical citrus from Reggio, which is the symbol of the City, together with the Riace Bronzes. At the “prince of citrus fruits” the Marino Foundation has named a prestigious cultural-artistic-tourist review: the Bergamotto Art Festival, which promotes three days of literary encounters at the MArRC in place Paolo Orsi, this year, on Friday, August 31th, on Saturday September 1st and on Sunday September 2nd, starting from 6 pm.
The third scheduled appointment on Sunday, September the 2nd, is with “The places of abandonment: notes of a sentimental geography”, by the anthropologist Vito Teti, Ordinary professor at the University of Calabria, in conversation with Gilberto Floriani, the director of the Vibonese Library System, and with the extraordinary participation of Beppe Barra, who will read fables by Giambattista Basile, from the fundamental “Cunto de li cunti”.
The students of the theatrical laboratory of the “Tommaso Campanella” Classical Lyceum will read excerpts from the writings of Vito Teti.
