On Saturday, September 14th, Free Admission to the MArRC for the Feast of Our Lady of Consolation (from 9.00 am to 11.00 pm)
The MArRC participates in the celebrations of the Feast of Our Lady of Consolation, Patroness of Reggio Calabria, among the most heartfelt and participated solemnities by the City community, on Saturday, September 14th, with the promotion of free admission for the whole day, until late evening ( from 9.00 am to 11.00 pm, thanks to the extraordinary evening opening).
It will be possible to visit the permanent collection of the MArRC, on the four exhibition levels, for an extraordinary experience in the memory of the Calabrian culture.
Starting at 8.00 pm, on the romantic panoramic terrace, where it is possible to admire a spectacular and unique landscape on the Strait, guests are going to scrutinize the sky and its mysteries by the telescope, supported by the specialized staff of the Planetarium Pythagoras, among the main collaborators in the program of enhancement of the Museum. At 9.00 pm, for the appointment of the last Summer Night at the MArRC 2019, the astronomer Giuseppe Cutispoto, of the Astrophysical Observatory of Catania, will guide the public to the exploration of the universe on the traces of a question, which since beginning of time human beings turn to the stars: “Are we alone in the Universe? And where are they all?”.
For scientists, the probability that a technologically advanced form of civilization exists or has existed among the billions of billions of star systems in the Cosmos is very high. Even the Italian physicist Enrico Fermi asked himself, in the fifties: “If the universe is full of aliens, where all of them have ended up? “.
Speakers will greet: the director of the Museum Carmelo Malacrino and the scientific director of the Planetarium Angela Misiano.
