The Codex of Cultural Heritage and Landscape (Legislative Decree No. 42/2004), under Title II – Fruition and Valorisation, Chapter I – Fruition of cultural heritage, Section I – General principles, article 101, defines the Museum “a permanent structure that acquires, catalogs, conserves, orders and exhibits cultural heritage for education and study purposes “. Therefore, the research on material and immaterial testimonies in the history of humanity and its environment is a primary activity as stipulated in the statutes of the Museum, since the fundamental purpose of the institution of museum is fruition understood as education and study.
