THE ART OF SHARING AT MArRC ON EUROPEAN HERITAGE DAYS
The MArRC participates in numerous initiatives in the celebrations of the European Cultural Heritage Days 2018, on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of September, for “The art of sharing.”
On Saturday 22nd, the Museum will be open to from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm at the usual price, while the entrance for the extraordinary opening from 8.00 pm to 11.00 pm will be at a special ticket of only 1 euro.
In the afternoon, at 3.30 pm, the International Conference “Greece, Magna Graecia, Europe”, organized in collaboration with the Bova Life association and with the Greek Embassy in Italy, pay tribute to the Greek roots of Europe. It will begin in Piazza Paolo Orsi.
The opening greetings will be presented by the director of the MArRC, Carmelo Malacrino, together with the general secretary of the Bova Life association, Luca Micheletta. The ambassador of Greece in Italy, Tasia Athanasiou, will be present with other distinguished guests: the president of the Calabria Regional Council, Nicola Irto, and the mayor of Roghudi, Pierpaolo Zavettieri.
Speakers will be the director of the Byzantine and Christian Museum of Athens, Katerina Dellaporta; the archaeologist Louis Godart, member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei and the scientific curator of the conference; and the underwater archaeologist Filippo Avilia, from the IULM University of Milan. The debate will be moderated by the writer and director Giorgio Neri.
Admission to the conference is free. The ticket for the visit to the Museum will have the ordinary cost.
The conference will continue on Sunday 23rd in Bova.
On Sunday 23rd, the Museum will be open to the public during ordinary hours and with the usual ticket price, from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm.
Limited promotional cards of GEP 2018 and balloons with the logo of the event for children will be distributed at the Museum Bookshop.
