“The Bergamot of Reggio Calabria and the Bronzes from Riace”, third edition. Meeting with the CIS and with the historian Pasquale Amato
It is up to the historian Pasquale Amato, member of the Scientific Committee of the International Center for Writers of Calabria and professor at the University for Foreigners “Dante Alighieri”, to open the long “citrus-flavored” weekend at the MArRC, on Thursday August 30th, at 9.00 pm, on the magnificent terrace on the Strait, by the conference on “The Bergamot of Reggio Calabria and the Bronzes from Riace”.
The event, at its third edition, is part of a project to enhance the cultural heritage of Calabria, and of the City of Reggio in a specific way, shared between the director of the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, Carmelo Malacrino, and Professor Amato, who is a forerunner in the recognition of historical-identity value of the “prince of citrus fruits”.
Introducers: the director of the Museum, Carmelo Malacrino, and the president of CIS, Loreley Rosita Borruto.
“It will be an opportunity to develop the collective awareness of the extraordinary relevance of two Calabrian cultural excellences: the bergamot and the Bronzes Riace – Amato says to present the meeting -, instead to defend and promote them without uncertainties, ambiguities, omissions”.
The evening is ending by the tasting of desserts at bergamotto offered by the Artisans Confectioners from Reggio City.
The event is part of the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage and the Year of Italian Food.
