“The journey of heroes”, presentation of the novel by collective author Dan Faton
All invited at the MArRC, in the conference room, on Wednesday 12 December, at 5.30 pm, to follow the “fantastic” journey of the majestic and magnificent Bronzes of Riace in the novel “The journey of heroes: from Argos to Riace”.
The book, written by Dan Faton, a collective of authors, and edited by the Publishing Company Dante Alighieri, will be presented in the meeting promoted by Touring Club, in the presence of the MArRC director Carmelo Malacrino and the Consul of the Reggio Calabria Touring Club Francesco Zuccarello Cimino, with expert scholars: Daniele Castrizio, from the Department of Ancient and Modern Civilizations of the University of Messina, member of the Scientific Committee of the Museum and among the leading experts of the Riace Bronzes, the historian Fabio Cuzzola and Tonino Perna, full professor of Economic Sociology at the University of Messina.
The protagonists of the story, as well as of the archaeological museum collection and of the European cultural heritage, are the two bronze masterpieces found on the seafront of the Ionian coast of Reggio during the summer of 1972, which fascinates experts from all over the world and feeds the imagination of artists, writers and poets with their charm and their mystery.
